Welcome! Let’s be honest, therapy isn’t always the most fun or easy experience, but it can be deeply rewarding and validating. Therapy comes down to understanding yourself and the problems that you have noticed in your life.
While therapy often targets incredibly serious and heavy moments or themes in someone’s life, I do believe that therapy does not always have to be serious, that there is power in gaining the ability to laugh and smile even in our toughest moments, and that is something I often try to incorporate into the therapy space.
I offer an unbiased, non-judgmental perspective on whatever you bring into the therapy room. My goal is to offer a different perspective; I am not the expert in your life. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you achieve your goals; the primary approaches I most frequently draw on are cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I will use a variety of techniques and approaches, as long as they are evidence-based and person-centred.
There’s no “right” way to be a person, and there’s no perfect way to do therapy. Come exactly as you are, and bring the messy, complicated, and confusing stuff—even the things you’re not quite sure how to put into words. We can start anywhere, figure out what works for you together, and make room for the serious moments, the laughs, the unexpected realizations, and the occasional “well, that explains a lot” moment.
